At 85 years young, I am filled with a zest for life. And one of the things that keeps me young is to be able to communicate using the computer.
I enjoy sharing things that I discover with others using email. Being an avid geocacher means that I share my experiences caching with my life partner Jack (geocaching name: Garagedude) with the community at geocaching.com.
Now I am entering the blogosphere.
I have always kept a diary. My bookshelves are full of the daily books that date back to the 1950's. Now, with Internet technology, I can use my blog to jot down notes, share ideas, or just to express myself.

The musings of Shirley O'Connell AKA Shirconn in the geocaching community. Currently (May 2007) Shirconn and her partner, Garagedude, are the Southern California Geocachers of the Year. They are an inspiration to younger cachers who hope to be as active and enthusiastic as this pair. Shirley also likes to write so what better vehicle than her own personal blog. Another Happy Occasion, I am celebrating! Since getting into this hobby, Garagedude and I have been thrilled to be featured on the cover & inside of the Calendar section of the Los Angeles Times on February 16, 2006 with pictures and a story on geocaching. We are also delighted to have gotten recognition on the CBS EVENING NATIONAL NEWS on April 10th, 2006. September 9th we were awarded the wonderful GEOCACHERS OF THE YEAR TROPHY 2006!!! Who was it that says "Life is beautiful"? They were so RIGHT!
